Senior Move
Senior moves at a fixed price: every item in writing
settled before the move
In a senior move, a fixed price is more than budget planning. It takes the pressure off a move that is demanding anyway: nobody has to watch the clock on moving day if packing the display cabinet takes longer or a break is needed in between. The basis is a survey in which we record furniture, floor, lift and wishes – ideally with relatives at the table. From this comes a quote in which packing, transport, assembly and disposal are listed separately. What comes along to the smaller flat, to assisted living or to the care home is something you decide beforehand.
You will often need the written quote for applications as well: with a recognised care level (Pflegegrad), the long-term care insurer (Pflegekasse) can subsidise a move into a flat better suited to care as a measure to improve the living environment – up to €4,180, with the application made before the move. The labour costs also reduce income tax by 20%. What we take care of in a move in later life is described under Senior move; you can get advice on 01625978461.

Fixed price after a survey
Every item listed separately in the quote
Our fixed price for a senior move is based on a survey of the moving volume, floor, lift and distance. If these details are correct on moving day, the amount stays the same – even if the move takes longer because of breaks or rain. That gives seniors and their families certainty when planning.
Quotes available individually based on workload, scheduling and the desired scope of services.

What goes into the fixed price
Survey, items, a calm process
We are based in Berlin (Stromstraße 21) and plan a move in later life so that nobody is rushed: a survey beforehand, a fixed price with all booked items, and a moving day with breaks. We take care of packing, carrying, transport and reassembly; what happens to heirlooms is decided by you and your family. We are liable for your belongings under § 451e HGB at €620 per cubic metre, and additional insurance is available for valuables. Contacts and dates are fixed in advance so that the process stays clear for everyone.

What belongs in a fixed-price quote
A good quote for a senior move leaves no questions open. These six points should be in it – they help the family with planning and with applications to the care insurer and the tax office.

Little to move? Part load!
If only part of the household is moving, for example to a care home near the children in another city, a shared load can be cheaper than a transport of your own. The furniture travels with other consignments on the same route; in return, the delivery date has some flexibility.

From
quote to reassembly
A senior move is often connected to other moves – for example when the children are planning a private move at the same time or the new flat is in another city. For longer routes we plan long-distance moves from Berlin, also at a fixed price after a survey. Destinations with their own page can be found in the locations overview. One quote for all the family's moves makes the costs comparable.

Questions about the fixed price for a senior move
From the survey appointment to the fixed price
Every senior move begins with a free survey before the move or by video call, in which we record the belongings, floor and wishes. You then receive a fixed-price quote listing every booked service, from packing to furniture assembly.
On moving day we pack, transport and reassemble in the new home. If you wish, we clear the old flat and take furniture for disposal, so it can be handed over broom-clean.
Tips to make the fixed price fit
Start sorting six to eight weeks ahead: whatever does not come along does not need to be packed and carried, and lowers the fixed price. Keepsakes are best packed by yourself or clearly marked so they are packed separately.
Involve relatives early and settle applications to the care insurer or the social welfare office before the move. Anyone receiving social assistance should discuss the moving costs with the office beforehand; the written quote helps with this.

How is the moving price made up?
First of all, the volume plays a central role, followed by the distance, which starts at €3.85/km. Further factors are the floor, whether there is a lift and a possible parking restriction zone. For additional services we recommend furniture assembly and shared load.
