Furniture Transport to Poland

Furniture to Poland
Single items and part loads to Poland – shared load or dedicated trip
To Poznań, Wrocław or Warsaw
Poland is close: by road it is about 278 km from Berlin to Poznań, about 350 km to Wrocław and about 579 km to Warsaw. That is why a furniture transport to Poland is often about small quantities – a sofa for the family in Poznań, a desk for studying in Wrocław or furniture that follows on after the move. We are based in Berlin (Stromstraße 21) and check whether your furniture can travel as a shared load or whether a dedicated trip suits you better.
Poland has been a member of the EU since 2004; there are no customs formalities for furniture and household goods. What needs clarifying is packaging, a packing list, the delivery window and who receives the furniture at the destination. For Poznań and Wrocław, a dedicated trip with loading and unloading is usually possible in one day; for Warsaw it makes for a long day. For a whole household, read our guide to the long-distance move to Poland; further routes can be found under long-distance moves.

What we clarify before the trip to Poland
Route, vehicle, handover
Before booking, we clarify what determines your furniture transport to Poland: how much loading space does the furniture take up, is a shared load enough or is a dedicated trip worthwhile on the short route to Poznań, who receives the furniture at the destination, and is there a lift and a place to stop? After that you receive a fixed price. We are liable for your belongings under the HGB, limited to €620 per cubic metre. Places with their own pages can be found under locations.

Your
move – fully organised
This guide covers furniture transport to Poland on a small scale: single pieces of furniture, a part load or things that follow on after the move. It deals with shared load or dedicated trip, packaging, tolls, delivery time and the handover at the destination. What you take care of yourself after the move – registering your residence (zameldowanie), PESEL, car – is explained in our checklist for emigrating to Poland. That way you know what lies ahead before collection in Berlin.

Frequently asked questions about furniture to Poland
No customs – but a packing list and labelling
Poland is part of the EU and the Schengen Area. For furniture and household goods from Germany there is no customs clearance and no import duties; accompanying papers for the border are not needed. Since 2024 Germany has been carrying out temporary checks at its land borders, and since July 2025 Poland at its border with Germany – this can mean waiting time, but changes nothing for household goods. A packing list still helps: it determines the loading space and serves as a check when unloading.
For a shared load, the name, delivery address and number of items go on every piece of furniture and every box. You transport valuables and documents yourself. If you are moving to Poland yourself, register your residence with the municipality (zameldowanie); the steps are set out in our emigration checklist.
Shared load or dedicated trip to Poland?
The lorry travels from Berlin via the A12 and Frankfurt (Oder) into Poland, then on the A2 towards Poznań and Warsaw; to Wrocław the route runs via the A15 and A18. For Poznań, at about 278 km, a dedicated trip with loading and unloading can usually be managed in one day; Warsaw, at about 579 km, makes for a long day. A shared load saves money if you accept a delivery window instead of a fixed day.
Vehicles over 3.5 t pay tolls in Poland via e-TOLL, and on parts of the A2 additionally to the operator; this is included in the fixed price. At the destination we clarify the floor, lift and stopping place; in old towns such as Kraków or Gdańsk access is often restricted. Photos of the entrance and stairwell help with planning.

What flows into the moving costs?
Moving costs depend on factors including the volume, the distance (from €4.15/km) and the floor with or without a lift. A parking restriction zone can also cause additional costs. Additional services such as furniture assembly or a shared load are also available.
