Move more lightly

Unsere Firma Student move with less volume: selling, giving away, donating or disposing of furniture and household goods as bulky waste beforehand.

After a few semesters, a surprising amount accumulates in a shared-flat room: old lecture notes, a wobbly shelf, the second coffee machine. Anything you get rid of before the move does not need to be packed, carried or paid for. On a student move, the price depends above all on the volume – if you declutter, you often need a smaller vehicle or can manage with a part load. We give you the fixed price after the survey, so ideally after you have decluttered.

Start two to three weeks before the move: sell or give away whatever is in good condition via classified ads; whatever nobody wants any more belongs with the bulky waste or at your city's recycling centre. If a lot is left over, a house clearance helps. We are based in Berlin (Stromstraße 21) and bring the rest to your new room – find out more under private move.

After decluttering: book a survey

Less volume, the right fixed price

Once you have sorted things out, we know more precisely what really needs to travel. Call us on 01625978461: we survey your room, then give you a fixed price for whatever is left and tell you whether a small transport or a part load is enough.

Offers available individually, depending on effort, scheduling and the scope of services required.

SORTING OUT PAYS OFF

What we take over after you declutter

You sort, we transport

You have to declutter yourself – nobody can decide for you what stays. After that, we take over: dismantling furniture, carrying boxes, bringing everything to your new room and reassembling it there. If bulky leftovers remain that are neither sold nor given away, a house clearance can take them away. For transport damage, we are liable under the HGB (§ 451e: €620 per m³). We are based in Berlin-Moabit and rated 5.0 on Google from 119 reviews.

House clearance

On request, we clear out whatever is left after selling and giving things away – find out more under house clearance.

Small transport

Few belongings left after decluttering? Then a small vehicle with two helpers is often enough instead of a large removal van.

Assembly service

Whatever stays, we dismantle and reassemble in your new room – dismantled, it needs only a fraction of the space in the van.

Furniture taxi

A sold sofa needs to go to the buyer, a donated wardrobe to the charity shop? We also transport single items separately by furniture taxi.
SIX ROUTES

Where to put what is not coming along

For almost everything you no longer need, there is a better place than the moving box. These are the six routes students use most often.

01

Sell

Sell furniture, technology and textbooks in good condition via classified ads – ideally two to three weeks before the move, so that there is time for collections.
02

Pass on to the next tenant

Shelving, a lamp or curtains often fit the old room perfectly. Ask the next tenant or the shared flat whether they would like to take anything over.
03

Give away

Give-away groups, university noticeboards and neighbourhood portals quickly find takers for things that are too good to throw away.
04

Donate

Charity shops and non-profit furniture exchanges accept furniture in good condition – some collect it. Call beforehand and describe its condition.
05

Bulky waste

Broken furniture belongs with the bulky waste or at the recycling centre. How collection and costs are handled is decided by the municipal waste service of your city.
06

Electrical waste

Do not put old kettles or chargers in household waste: recycling centres and many large retailers take back electrical appliances.
AFTER DECLUTTERING

What is left often fits into a part load

Less volume, a lower price

If you sort things out thoroughly, you often end up with just a bed, a desk and a few boxes. For so few belongings over a long distance, a part load is frequently the cheapest solution: your things travel along with other jobs, and you only pay for your share of the load bed.

OVERVIEW

Declutter,
sell, move more lightly

Less volume, less stress

Whether it is a first-semester move or a change after your bachelor's: every student move is a good opportunity to shed ballast. If you sort things out early, you pack fewer boxes, book a smaller vehicle and start in your new room without crates full of things nobody needs. How bulky-waste disposal works is explained in the article Disposing of bulky waste properly, and ideas for passing things on in the article Donating furniture instead of throwing it away.

Sort out early

Start two to three weeks before the date, room by room – that makes your student move, private move or senior move smaller and cheaper.

Getting rid of leftovers

Sell, give away, donate – and whatever is left, a house clearance takes away. For the rest, a packing service and furniture transport are enough.

Transporting smaller

After decluttering, the room often fits into a part load, small-load transport or a furniture taxi instead of a large van.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about decluttering before a student move

Answers on costs, dates, part loads, top-floor rooms, liability, single items and boxes.
The price depends above all on the volume and the distance – which is why decluttering makes the move noticeably cheaper. The overview ‘Prices for every flat size’ above lists the starting prices by number of rooms. We give you a binding fixed price after the survey; it is best to arrange it once you have already sorted things out.

Moving a shared-flat room properly: what you need to bear in mind

Moving a shared-flat room differs significantly from a classic flat move, as narrow hallways and shared rooms usually have to be taken into account. Plan a precise schedule with your flatmates early on so that moves do not block each other. Also clarify in advance which furniture belongs to you and which stays in the shared flat, to avoid misunderstandings.

Use clear labels on every box so that nothing gets lost even in a chaotic, cluttered hallway. With narrow hall-of-residence corridors and tight stairwells, our team packs to save space accordingly. That way, moving in or out goes smoothly and without time pressure.

Using the semester holidays to move and declutter

The semester holidays are the ideal time for your move, as you can pack and organise without the stress of lectures. However, this period is also popular with many other students, which is why booking a date early is crucial. If you plan cleverly, you secure the best slots and avoid waiting times shortly before the semester starts.

Also use the free time to dispose of bulky waste and to sell or donate furniture you no longer need in good time. That reduces your moving volume and saves real money when booking. Our team is happy to advise you on which type of vehicle is most economical for your individual needs.

Prices for every flat size

Whether it is a small flat or a large house – our price structure is clear and easy to follow. For a 1-room flat you pay from €344, for a 2-room flat from €615, for a 3-room flat from €889 and for a 4-room flat from €1,289. Houses and villas always receive an individual quote, as numerous factors have to be taken into account. The per-kilometre price for long-distance moves starts from €4.20. What determines the price – above all the volume

  • Scope and volume
  • Distance from €4.20/km
  • Floor without a lift
  • A necessary parking restriction zone (Halteverbotszone)
  • Furniture assembly and part load as additional options
