Long-Distance Move Berlin – Dornbirn: Route Process & Deadlines

Dornbirn guide
Long-distance move to Dornbirn – from the Spree to the Rhine Valley
Guide
A move to Dornbirn takes you across the border to Vorarlberg, into the Rhine Valley between Lake Constance and the Bregenz Forest. Because Austria is in the EU, your household goods need no customs papers – but other registration rules apply: within three days of moving in, you register using the registration form (Meldezettel), which your landlord also signs. We take care of packing, transport and furniture assembly in your new flat and plan the long route with statutory breaks.
We come from Berlin-Moabit (Stromstraße 21) and drive around 739 km via the A9 to Nuremberg, then via the A6, A7 and A96 towards Lindau and finally via the Austrian A14 to Dornbirn. By lorry, that is about eleven and a half hours including breaks – more than the permitted daily driving time, so we travel with two drivers or with an overnight stop. We quote the fixed price after the survey, also for the journey from Dornbirn back to Berlin. Details: Moving Berlin – Dornbirn.
