Interim solution
Sublets and temporary lets: moving in stages
Living on a temporary basis
A temporary let (Zwischenmiete) or a sublet usually means two moves in a short time: first into the interim flat, later into your permanent home. Short lead times, little space and packing and unpacking twice are typical. Legally important: anyone who sublets needs their landlord's consent (§ 540 BGB). We adapt to such stages and give you a fixed price for each stage after the survey.
For your private move into a temporary let, we only take what fits there; the rest can be put into storage – more under Storage. We are liable for your belongings on every transport under the HGB (€620 per m³), and additional insurance is possible on request. Further information can be found under Private move. Call us on 01625978461 – we will advise you on your situation.

Offers available individually, depending on effort, scheduling and the scope of services required.

How we organise interim solutions
Select, transport, store
An interim solution often arises under time pressure – because of a notice to quit, a renovation or a delayed handover. Together with you we sort out what goes into the interim flat and what goes into storage, and plan the later onward move at the same time, so that boxes are labelled and furniture is not dismantled twice. We are liable for your belongings on every transport under the HGB, even if the move takes place in several stages. We are based in Berlin (Stromstraße 21) and drive nationwide – destinations are listed under Locations.

What matters with an interim solution
With an interim solution in particular, clear agreements count: which furniture goes where, when the second move is due and who can be reached during the interim period. We treat your belongings with the same care at every stage.
A clear selection
Safe stages
Stay reachable
Thinking ahead to the second move
Flexible if delayed
A clean finish
Just a few boxes? Part load
For small volumes for your sublet, we also offer a part load: your things travel together with other jobs. This suits students and short temporary lets with few belongings in particular – with a time window instead of a fixed collection day.

Contract,
registration, storage
Around subletting and interim solutions there are legal and practical questions: does the main tenant have their landlord's consent? Who issues the landlord confirmation (Wohnungsgeberbestätigung)? Do you have to re-register at all? Anyone who stays registered for another flat in Germany and stays for no more than six months does not have to register (§ 27 para. 2 BMG). More on registration can be read in the article Landlord confirmation.

Questions on sublets and temporary lets
What to look out for with a temporary let
A temporary let is usually a sublet: the main tenant lets you have a room or flat for a certain time. For this they need their landlord's consent (§ 540 BGB); if they acquire a legitimate interest after the contract was concluded, such as a stay abroad, they can demand consent for part of the flat (§ 553 BGB). Ask to see the consent and record the duration, rent, deposit and notice in writing.
For registration, the main tenant, as the provider of the accommodation, issues you the landlord confirmation (§ 19 BMG). If you remain registered for another flat in Germany and live in the temporary let for no more than six months, you do not need to register (§ 27 para. 2 BMG); if you give up the old flat, re-register within two weeks. Also clarify access and parking for moving day with the main tenant.
Interim storage as a practical addition
Not all your belongings always fit into temporary accommodation. Then storage is worthwhile: furniture and boxes are packed, taken away and stay in storage until the final move. During the interim period you do not pay for a flat that is too big just to accommodate furniture.
Which storage space, which minimum period and which costs apply in your case we clarify during the survey; information can also be found under Storage. Draw up an inventory list and pack things you need in the meantime – winter coats, documents – in the boxes for the interim flat.
Prices for a move in stages
In a nutshell: 1 room costs from €344, 2 rooms from €589, 3 rooms from €915 and 4 rooms from €1,329. Anyone living in a house or villa always receives an individual quote after a survey. For long-distance moves a kilometre rate from €3.90 applies. At the free survey we calculate both stages and the storage.
What determines the price for two moves
The calculation is based on the volume of your belongings and the distance to be covered (from €3.90/km). Then come the floor, the lift and, if applicable, a no-parking zone. If needed, furniture assembly and a part load round off our offer.
