Moving costs per room: guide values

Estimating costs
Moving costs per room: what you should really budget for
From rooms to a fixed price
Moving costs per room depend on several factors: the amount of furniture, floor, distance and accessibility play a decisive role. As a rough guide with us: an averagely furnished room comes to between 300 and 600 euros, depending on the scope of services. You can find the starting prices for each flat size in the overview ‘Our starting prices by number of rooms’ below. With a private move, costs can often be reduced through your own work, such as packing yourself. Even so, do not rely on flat-rate figures alone – request a survey.
For a one-room apartment, the total costs are usually between 400 and 700 euros, while a three-room flat can quickly reach 1,200 to 2,000 euros. Additional factors such as piano transport, bulky furniture or the lack of a lift noticeably increase the effort. For long-distance moves over several hundred kilometres, per-kilometre charges are added and calculated separately. Our team will gladly prepare a free fixed-price estimate for you that takes every detail into account.

From guide value to fixed price
Transparently calculated – without hidden costs
Call us on 01625978461 and arrange a free survey. We then give you a fixed price that already includes the number of rooms, floor and route. Your belongings are covered under the German Commercial Code (HGB) (§ 451e: €620 per m³), and additional insurance is available on request.
Offers available individually, depending on effort, scheduling and the scope of services required.

Why the number of rooms is only the beginning
A survey instead of an estimate
At Beste Umzug Unternehmen, the number of rooms is only the starting point of the calculation. Two flats with three rooms can contain very different amounts of belongings – that is why we look at furniture, number of boxes, floor and parking situation during a survey and then quote a fixed price. We come from Berlin (Stromstraße 21) and travel nationwide; destinations with their own page can be found under Locations. Your belongings are covered under the HGB.

How the number of rooms becomes a price
The per-room guide values give you an initial orientation – nothing more. We quote the binding price for your room move after the survey.
Survey first
Floor and lift
Clear line items
Short routes, fewer hours
A date of your choice
Fully assembled
One room, a small load
A part load (Beiladung) is particularly suitable for smaller moving volumes and can lower the moving costs per room considerably. Your belongings travel in one vehicle together with other transports, and the costs are shared. The date then depends on the tour.

What
counts besides the price per room
Besides the pure moving costs per room, additional services such as a packing service, furniture assembly and interim storage also play an important role in budget planning. If you are planning a private move, you should clarify early which services are included in the fixed price. For greater distances we recommend a look at our page on long-distance moves, as different cost structures apply there. The choice of the right moving date can also make a difference to the price, as weekends and the end of the month are usually more in demand.

Frequently asked questions about moving costs per room
What do moving costs per room depend on?
The level of moving costs per room is determined largely by the volume of furniture, the number of boxes and special items such as pianos or aquariums. The floor, parking situation and distance between the old and new flat also feed into the calculation.
Another important factor is the number of staff needed for smooth, swift transport. With a private move using few staff you may save costs, but you risk longer moving times and more effort on your part.
How to save on moving costs per room
If you plan early, declutter and pack yourself, you can noticeably reduce the moving costs per room. A moving date away from weekends or the turn of the month often has a positive effect on the price too. You can find more ideas in our 12 money-saving tips.
A no-obligation survey by our team helps avoid hidden cost traps and set a fair fixed price. That way you keep control of the costs of your entire move from the start.
Our starting prices by number of rooms
Our starting prices by flat size: four-room flats from €1,329, three-room flats from €909, two-room flats from €609 and one-room flats from just €369. For houses and villas there is an individual quote. We charge long-distance moves from €4.15/km. Take the opportunity of a free survey.
Why flats of the same size cost different amounts
Besides the pure volume of your household goods, it is above all the distance (from €4.15/km) that determines the total cost. Other factors are the floor of the flat and whether there is a lift. For a smooth process, a parking restriction zone (Halteverbotszone) is also advisable, which we will gladly organise for you – complemented by a part load or furniture assembly.
