Your questions about moving in Ingolstadt
In the Altstadt, streets are often narrow and parking space is scarce. A parking restriction is therefore often a good idea, so that the removal van can stand directly in front of the building and carrying distances stay short. We clarify whether one is needed during the survey.
Moving in Ingolstadt: the process between the Glacis and the Danube
A move in Ingolstadt brings some typical challenges, which we as a removal company from Berlin take into account when planning. The city on the Danube, part of Upper Bavaria and home to the headquarters of Audi AG, combines medieval old-town structures with modern residential and commercial areas. Anyone living in the Altstadt around the Neues Schloss or Paradeplatz usually has narrow streets and little parking space – careful advance planning is important here.
Our process for a move in Ingolstadt always starts with a free survey or an assessment by video, in which we record access routes, number of floors, lift situation and possible bottlenecks. We then draw up a transparent quote covering all services such as a private move, packing and assembly. On moving day, our team travels from Berlin and handles the transport, securing the furniture and final cleaning on request.
Ingolstadt is connected via the six-lane A9 (Nuremberg–Munich) with the Ingolstadt-Nord/Ost and Ingolstadt-Süd junctions; the B 16, which crosses the city from east to west, leads to Regensburg. At peak times, expect more traffic on the feeder roads, which is why we agree the arrival time and route with you in advance. Our premises in Berlin-Moabit are around 509 road kilometres from Ingolstadt. We plan the journey so that the team is at your address within the agreed time window, and the process so that costs and timing are fixed in advance.
Twelve city districts: residential areas for your move in Ingolstadt
Ingolstadt is divided into twelve city districts with 61 sub-districts, each with a very different character, which plays an important role in planning a move. The Altstadt stands out for its historic buildings, narrow streets and limited parking – an official parking restriction zone is often needed here so that the removal van can be positioned right outside the front door. Outside the Altstadt, for example in Oberhaunstadt, Unterhaunstadt or Friedrichshofen, access is often easier; we clarify the situation at your address in advance.
Ringsee lies around the main railway station; its name goes back to a former ring-shaped lake formed by an arm of the Danube, the Altach, during floods. Other residential areas are Haunwöhr and Unsernherrn as well as the incorporated neighbourhoods on the edge of the city. Students are drawn to the Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt (THI) and the Faculty of Business and Economics of the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt.
- Altstadt: historic buildings, narrow access roads, parking restriction zone recommended
- Ringsee: residential area around the main station
- Haunwöhr & Unsernherrn: residential areas outside the Altstadt, access depends on the street
- Etting & Zuchering: more rural neighbourhoods with detached houses
- Gerolfing & Mailing: neighbourhoods on the edge of the city
For every address we ask about the floor, lift and access and tailor the move planning individually, so that your move in Ingolstadt runs smoothly – whichever part of town you are in.
Moving costs in Ingolstadt: prices & cost factors
The moving costs in Ingolstadt depend on several factors: flat size, distance, floor, accessibility and any additional services you want, such as a packing service or furniture assembly. We calculate transparently and without hidden costs. Our guide prices for a private move in Ingolstadt and the surrounding area give you a first overview:
| Flat size | Price from | Typical additional services |
|---|---|---|
| 1-room flat | from €344 | Packing material, transport |
| 2-room flat | from €615 | Furniture assembly, parking restriction zone |
| 3-room flat | from €915 | Kitchen assembly, storage |
| Long-distance move (per km) | from €4.20/km | Part load possible |
For smaller consignments, or if not the entire household needs to be moved, a part load is often worthwhile and is noticeably cheaper than a full move. The distance between the old and new address within Ingolstadt – for example from Ringsee to the Altstadt or from Gerolfing to Zuchering – also affects the final price, as do the number of floors and whether there is a lift.
Additional costs may arise from any parking restriction zones required, which cost between €30 and €100 per day depending on the street and duration. For a binding cost estimate, we recommend a free survey, by video or by arrangement, so that we can take all the individual circumstances of your move in Ingolstadt into account.
Parking space in the Altstadt: parking restrictions around Paradeplatz and the Moritzkirche
Especially in Ingolstadt's historic Altstadt, with its narrow lanes around Paradeplatz, the Neues Schloss or the Moritzkirche, there is often a shortage of parking space for removal vehicles. Setting up an official parking restriction zone is advisable here, so that the removal van can stand directly in front of the entrance on moving day and long carrying distances are avoided. It is applied for with the City of Ingolstadt at least seven working days before it starts; the signs must be in place 96 hours beforehand. We help with the details and plan the date accordingly.
According to our price list, a parking restriction zone costs €30 to €100 per day. The city charges an administrative fee based on the location of the street and the duration; it does not state a fixed amount. A rental fee is added for borrowed signs.
- Apply at least seven working days before the start, ideally two to three weeks beforehand
- Put up the signs at least 96 hours before the start
- Avoid fines with correctly signposted parking restriction zones
- Shorter carrying distances, a faster and cheaper move overall
Outside the Altstadt too, for example in Ringsee or Friedrichshofen, we check the parking situation in advance and clarify whether a parking restriction is needed. This ensures that your move in Ingolstadt goes ahead without searching for parking, lost time or unnecessary conflicts with residents.
Between Ingolstadt, Berlin and the region
Ingolstadt lies on the A9 between Nuremberg and Munich; the B 16 connects the city with Regensburg and Donauwörth, the B 13 with Eichstätt and Pfaffenhofen. For a long-distance move to Berlin, it is around 509 road kilometres from our premises in Moabit, mostly via the A9. We plan moves in both directions with a fixed price after a survey.
We charge transparently for our long-distance moves from Ingolstadt from €4.20 per kilometre, with the actual costs depending on the volume, floor and any additional services required. For smaller quantities, we also offer an affordable part load, where your household goods are transported together with other consignments.
We also carry out moves in other Bavarian cities, each with our team travelling from Berlin. These include:
- Removal company Munich
- Removal company Nuremberg
- Removal company Regensburg
- Removal company Augsburg
- Removal company Würzburg
- Removal company Erlangen
- Removal company Fürth
- Removal company Bamberg
- Removal company Passau
Whether you are moving within Bavaria or across Germany, we always plan the route so that your household goods reach their destination safely, on time and on fair terms.

If you only want to transport individual pieces of furniture or a few boxes, you benefit from our affordable part load. For clearing households, for example after a bereavement or when older relatives move home, we offer professional house clearance, in which we separate and dispose of recyclables properly.

Office and company moves in Ingolstadt
As the headquarters of Audi AG and numerous suppliers, Ingolstadt is an important business location in Bavaria. Demand for professional company moves is correspondingly high – whether in the Interpark Ingolstadt, in other commercial areas or in offices in the city centre. Our company move team plans every move so that business operations are disrupted as little as possible; weekend dates are possible by arrangement.
Our services include the professional dismantling and reassembly of office furniture, the safe disassembly and recommissioning of IT infrastructure and structured file logistics in line with data protection requirements. Companies with sensitive documents in particular, such as law firms or medical practices in the city centre, benefit from our discreet and careful way of working.
- Detailed move planning with a schedule and a contact person
- Labelling system for boxes and furniture for quick re-setup
- Dismantling and assembly of server cabinets and office furniture
- Organisation of any necessary parking restriction zones in front of company buildings
- Minimal downtime thanks to flexible scheduling, including at weekends
For smaller practices, law firms or start-ups around the Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt, we also offer tailor-made solutions based on budget and time frame. If only individual pieces of furniture or machines need to be transported, our part load is a cost-efficient alternative to a full company move here too. With a fixed schedule, we make sure your company is quickly up and running again at its new location.
Student moves in Ingolstadt & how booking works
With the Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt (THI) and the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt, the city attracts numerous students every semester, who often switch between halls of residence, shared flats and first homes. For this group we offer a special student move, which is particularly affordable and flexible – ideal for smaller flats, tight time windows and limited budgets.
Our booking process could hardly be simpler: first you receive a non-binding initial estimate via our website or by phone. Depending on the size of the move, we then arrange a short on-site survey or an assessment by video to realistically record the volume and access situation. After that we draw up a transparent fixed-price quote with no hidden costs.
- Enquiry by phone, email or contact form
- Free survey or video assessment
- Individual quote with a fixed price
- Date confirmation including a parking restriction zone if needed
- The move carried out by our team from Berlin
- Handover and final check in the new flat
Especially for student moves in the city centre or around the universities, suitable dates are particularly important – so plan early at the start and end of semester. Older people who prefer a calmer, well-planned move also benefit from our sensitive senior move. Whether students, commuters or seniors, our clearly structured booking process ensures that every move in Ingolstadt is well organised and stress-free from the outset.
Applying for a parking restriction in Ingolstadt: deadlines, signs and online application
In Ingolstadt, the city grants temporary parking restrictions for moves and deliveries, especially where there is no private parking space. The responsible office is the Office for Traffic Management and Geoinformation (Amt für Verkehrsmanagement und Geoinformation), Residents' Parking section, Ludwigstraße 34 (entrance on Hallstraße). Visits are by appointment only; staff can be reached on 0841 305-2333 or -2334.
Key rules according to the city:
- The traffic order must be applied for at least seven working days before work begins. Late applications cannot be considered; in particularly urgent cases, you are expected to apply in person.
- The parking restriction signs must be put up with at least 96 hours' advance notice.
- Official traffic signs are only valid if the city, as the traffic authority, has approved them.
There are separate online forms for private individuals and for companies or organisations. The administrative fee depends on the location of the street and the duration; the page does not state an amount. The signs can be borrowed for a rental fee from the Office for Building Management at the Bauhof depot. The legal basis is § 46 (1) StVO.
We plan the date and zone length with you and observe the deadlines from the outset: because the seven-working-day application period and 96 hours' advance notice come together, you should fix your moving date at least two weeks in advance. More on this under parking restriction zone. More in our guide Moving to Ingolstadt.
Ingolstadt's Altstadt, pedestrian zone and registering after the move
In Ingolstadt's Altstadt, according to the city, parking on public streets is partly paid short-stay parking and partly reserved for residents. The city offers its own online procedure for the residents' parking permit in the Altstadt; if you are moving in, you should apply for it early.
For the removal van, the city's online services also include exemption permits:
- for moves and deliveries, separately for private individuals and organisations,
- a short-term exemption from the no-parking or no-stopping rules, or for driving into the pedestrian zone.
We check during the survey whether your address is in the pedestrian area and which access times apply there, and clarify it with the city before the application. That way, the permit, parking space and time window are fixed before the lorry sets off.
You register your new address at the Citizens' Office, Registration and Passports, in the Neues Rathaus at Rathausplatz 4. Visits are possible by appointment; you can reach the office by phone on 0841 305-1500. The city's website also offers online procedures for registering your residence, notifying a change of main residence and the landlord confirmation (Wohnungsgeberbestätigung).
