Long-distance move from Berlin

Everything important about moving in Bavaria
The route Berlin–Munich is around 585 kilometres via the A9. With our long-distance rate from €4.10/km, individual total costs result depending on moving volume and additional services, which we break down transparently for you after a free survey.
Moves in the Free State: what Praktik Transport und Umzüge takes on
With an area of over 70,000 square kilometres, Bavaria is Germany's largest federal state and is divided into the seven administrative regions of Upper Bavaria, Lower Bavaria, Upper Palatinate, Upper Franconia, Middle Franconia, Lower Franconia and Swabia. As a removal company from Berlin, Praktik Transport und Umzüge supports both private individuals and companies with moves within the Free State and with long-distance moves from Berlin and other German cities to Bavaria. From the state capital Munich through the Nuremberg metropolitan region to the Franconian wine regions around Würzburg – we check routes, motorways and the rules of the relevant city in advance.
The range extends from small student moves in Erlangen to complex office moves in Augsburg. We rely on firm arrangements and transparent pricing. Whether a private move or an office move – we plan every move to Bavaria individually and take regional particularities into account, such as narrow old-town lanes in Regensburg or strict parking management in Munich.
Our core services for the Bavarian region include:
- Private move for flats and houses throughout Bavaria
- Office move for offices, law firms and practices
- Part load for smaller moving volumes
- House clearance before or after the move
- Parking restriction zone for smooth loading in narrow city centres
- Piano transport for delicate instruments
We also handle moves in Ingolstadt, Passau, Bamberg and Fürth – regardless of whether it is a short move within a neighbourhood or a long-distance move from Berlin.
The most important cities for your move in Bavaria
Bavaria combines vibrant cities, historic old towns and rural regions. For a move in Bavaria it is important to know the respective urban structures. In Munich, neighbourhoods such as Schwabing, Bogenhausen, Maxvorstadt or Sendling differ greatly in terms of parking options, access routes and lift situations in period buildings. The city on the Isar is excellently connected to the national road network via the A9, A8, A96 and A99 (Munich motorway ring).
Nuremberg, Bavaria's second-largest city, lies on the A3 and A9 and is easy to reach via the Frankenschnellweg (A73), although the medieval old town with its narrow lanes requires particular care with access. Only a few kilometres away lie Fürth and Erlangen, which together with Nuremberg form the Nuremberg Metropolitan Region.
In Swabia, Augsburg lies on the A8, with districts such as Lechhausen and Göggingen. In the Upper Palatinate, Regensburg, with its UNESCO World Heritage old town on the A3 and A93, is an important location, while Passau, the City of Three Rivers, lies close to the Austrian border.
In Lower Franconia, Würzburg is centrally located on the A3, near the Biebelried motorway interchange with the A7; in Upper Franconia, Bamberg with its historic old town is another focal point. Ingolstadt on the A9 between Munich and Nuremberg also has its own page. Our team travels from Berlin to all these cities.
Regional particularities of moves in Bavaria
A move in Bavaria differs considerably from region to region. In the cities of Munich, Nuremberg and Augsburg, narrow streets, pedestrian zones and high parking pressure are typical challenges. Here a parking restriction zone often makes sense so that the team can load and unload unhindered, especially in Munich's old town, in Nuremberg's Gostenhof or in Regensburg's old town with its listed buildings.
In rural regions such as the Bavarian Forest, the Fichtel Mountains or the Allgäu, on the other hand, long journeys, narrow country roads and sometimes steep driveways play a greater role. For moves to these areas we plan more generous time windows and use smaller vehicles depending on accessibility.
- Old towns with historic buildings and narrow lanes (Regensburg, Bamberg, Würzburg)
- University towns with high turnover in shared-flat and student moves (Erlangen, Würzburg, Bamberg)
- Economic regions with many office moves (Munich, Ingolstadt, Nuremberg)
- Rural areas with larger plots and longer journeys (Bavarian Forest, Upper Palatinate Forest)
There are also climatic differences: while snow and ice are to be expected in winter in the Alpine foothills and Upper Bavaria, the wine regions of Lower Franconia around Würzburg are considerably milder. We adapt our scheduling and vehicle equipment accordingly to ensure a safe move even in wintry conditions. In student towns such as Erlangen or Würzburg we also offer special terms for the student move, as short-notice moves at the start of semester are common here.
Moving costs in Bavaria: transparent prices for every move
The cost of a move in Bavaria depends on several factors: size of the flat, distance, floor, accessibility and desired additional services. At Praktik Transport und Umzüge you always receive a transparent and fair calculation, whether for a move within Munich or a long-distance move from Berlin to Bavaria.
| Flat size | Local move within Bavaria | Long-distance move from Berlin |
|---|---|---|
| 1-room flat | from €359 | from €4.10/km, e.g. Berlin–Munich approx. 585 km |
| 2-room flat | from €589 | from €4.10/km, e.g. Berlin–Nuremberg approx. 436 km |
| 3-room flat | from €905 | from €4.10/km, e.g. Berlin–Würzburg approx. 493 km |
Additional costs may arise from a parking restriction zone, which costs between €30 and €100 per day depending on the city and permit duration – for example in Munich city centre or Regensburg's old town, where parking is particularly scarce. Special services such as piano transport, house clearance or a part load for smaller quantities are also calculated individually.
For senior citizens, as part of the senior move, we offer special packages with additional support and furniture assembly, which vary depending on scope. As a rule, we recommend a free on-site survey or virtual consultation to obtain a binding quote for your individual move in Bavaria. This way you avoid hidden costs and can plan your budget realistically.
Long-distance and local moves in Bavaria: from Berlin to the Free State
Whether a long-distance move from Berlin to Bavaria or a local move within the Free State – Praktik Transport und Umzüge covers both types of move professionally. The route from Berlin to Munich is around 585 kilometres and runs mostly via the A9. It is about 436 kilometres to Nuremberg, also via the A9, and around 493 kilometres to Würzburg via the A9, A70 and A7 (each from Stromstraße 21).
- Berlin – Munich: approx. 585 km via the A9
- Berlin – Nuremberg: approx. 436 km via the A9
- Berlin – Würzburg: approx. 493 km via the A9, A70 and A7
- Berlin – Regensburg: approx. 495 km via the A9 and A93
- Berlin – Augsburg: approx. 568 km via the A9
- Berlin – Passau: approx. 617 km via the A9, A93 and A3
For these long distances we calculate transparently from €4.10/km, including loading and unloading by our team. With a part load, smaller moving volumes can also be transported inexpensively, which is particularly interesting for students moving from Berlin to university towns such as Erlangen or Würzburg.
Within Bavaria we handle local moves between all larger cities, for example from Nuremberg to Fürth or Erlangen, from Munich to Ingolstadt or from Regensburg to Passau. These routes can usually be completed within one day, so that you arrive in your new home on moving day itself. Thanks to good motorway connections via the A3, A6, A7, A8, A9, A93 and A99, we plan every route efficiently and with time savings, regardless of whether it is a short move within a district or a journey right across the Free State.

Every service is individually tailored to your needs and the local conditions in Bavaria.
How your move in Bavaria works
A well-organised move in Bavaria begins long before the actual moving day. After your enquiry, we first carry out a free consultation in which we record the size of the flat, distance and special requirements such as piano transport or a house clearance. We then prepare a transparent, non-binding quote.
- Step 1: Free survey by video or by arrangement, for addresses in Munich, Nuremberg, Augsburg or other Bavarian cities
- Step 2: Individual quote with a clear breakdown of costs, including long-distance or local rate
- Step 3: Scheduling, applying for a parking restriction zone for the moving days if necessary
- Step 4: Professional packing, dismantling of furniture and securing of fragile items
- Step 5: Transport via the appropriate motorway route, for example the A9 for Berlin–Munich or the A3 for Regensburg–Passau
- Step 6: Unloading, furniture assembly and final cleaning at the destination
For long-distance moves from Berlin to Bavaria we calculate realistic driving times – by lorry, including mandatory breaks, around eight and a half hours to Munich and around six and a half hours to Nuremberg – and plan sufficient buffer time for loading and unloading. For local moves within Bavaria, for example from Fürth to Nuremberg or from Ingolstadt to Munich, the entire move is often completed in one day.
On request we also take care of the final cleaning of the old flat and the handover to the landlord. For senior citizens, as part of the senior move, we offer particularly considerate support throughout the entire process. This way your move in Bavaria runs in a structured, stress-free and punctual manner – from the first enquiry to the last box.

We combine the journey from Berlin with precise preparation: parking restrictions according to the rules of the relevant city, route planning via the A9, A3, A8 or A93 and an assessment of access for historic buildings without a lift.
- Open about our location: team from Berlin, arrival time agreed bindingly
- Transparent fixed prices after a survey, without hidden costs
- Flexible dates, including for student moves at the start of semester
- Comprehensive range of services from part loads to complete office moves

With firm arrangements, protective material and one contact person, we make sure your belongings arrive safely and punctually at your new home in Bavaria.
Parking restrictions in Bavaria: Munich and Nuremberg as examples
In Bavaria there is no single office for parking restrictions for moves; the relevant city decides. Two large examples show how differently this works.
- Munich: According to the state capital, the Mobility Department (Temporäre Anordnungen, Implerstraße 9) processes parking restrictions for moves. A maximum of 3 calendar days is possible, and processing takes 10 working days. The signs must be in place no later than the fourth day before the date of validity, and you obtain, set up and remove them yourself. The fee is based on the city's list of fees.
- Nuremberg: Here, according to the city, the Servicebetrieb Öffentlicher Raum (SÖR) is responsible. Applications must be made at least four weeks in advance. According to SÖR, a parking restriction of up to 20 metres costs 35 euros for one day, and the exemption permit for one vehicle 27 euros outside the pedestrian zone, in each case plus the costs of putting up the signs.
For other Bavarian cities: ask the local traffic authority and allow plenty of lead time. How an application is generally structured is explained in our guide to the parking restriction zone; you can find our service under parking restriction zone. The cities of Munich and Nuremberg have their own pages.
Both cities point out that you may not reserve parking spaces with objects. In Nuremberg, according to the city, the person putting up the signs must prove expertise in accordance with RSA 21 and ZTV-SA 97.
Moving in Bavaria by administrative region
According to the Bavarian State Ministry of the Interior, the Free State is divided into seven administrative regions with the following seats of government:
- Upper Bavaria: Munich
- Lower Bavaria: Landshut
- Upper Palatinate: Regensburg
- Upper Franconia: Bayreuth
- Middle Franconia: Ansbach
- Lower Franconia: Würzburg
- Swabia: Augsburg
The government of the Upper Palatinate describes its region as densely wooded, with the Großer Arber (1,439 m) as the highest point mentioned. According to the government there, Swabia extends from the Ries in the north to the Bavarian Allgäu in the south. Anyone moving to such locations should discuss access, gradients and winter dates with us early on.
On our pages you will find points of contact in several administrative regions, for example Regensburg in the Upper Palatinate, Würzburg in Lower Franconia and Augsburg in Swabia. We plan journeys from our base in Berlin-Moabit as a long-distance move; the distance is measured in the quote.
For the Upper Palatinate, the government states around 9,700 square kilometres, about 1.1 million inhabitants, seven districts and three independent cities. You can find out from the town or municipal administration which authority is responsible for parking restrictions in smaller places. We therefore do not state blanket deadlines, but we are happy to advise you on your destination.
It is not the regional government but your town or municipality that is responsible for registration and parking restrictions. After moving in, according to § 17 of the Federal Registration Act (Bundesmeldegesetz), you have two weeks to register.
