#Furniture Assembly

Unscrew the gas bottle from the barbecue, close the valve, fit the cap, transport it separately; pack rattan, wood and metal dry: moving garden furniture & barbecues.

Lock the treadmill, photograph and dismantle the multi-gym, weight plates in small boxes: how fitness equipment is transported – and what liability covers.

Up to 270 kg on a narrow base, a delicate action, tight stairs and unclear liability: why a piano should only be moved by professionals.

Safes and heavy items when moving: find out the weight, check the load capacity of floor and stairs, empty the safe (§ 451d HGB) and clarify liability for heavy pieces.

Fit the transit bolts, drain residual water via the lint filter and emergency hose, carry it upright – and remove the bolts again before the first wash.

Wardrobe, bed, kitchen, wall shelf: what furniture assembly covers, how to prepare and why connecting the cooker to its outlet box needs a qualified electrician.

Which IKEA furniture you should dismantle, how to keep screws and fittings from going missing, and why the anti-tip restraint must be refitted to the wall.

Measure first, then carry: how wardrobes, sofas and beds get through a narrow stairwell – upright, partly dismantled or by furniture lift – and who is liable for damage.

Lifting heavy furniture correctly: squat down, keep the load close, back straight, no twisting, two people with commands, straps and sack truck – and when pros should carry.

Moving antique furniture safely: padding veneer and inlays, removing top sections, photographing the condition – and why removal liability (€620/m³) is often not enough.

Carry headboard, bases, mattress and topper separately, protect the fabric, disconnect the motor safely: how to move a box-spring bed without damage to bed or walls.

Moving a wardrobe: empty it, remove the doors, dismantle and label the parts, pad the edges, secure it upright in the lorry – and when a furniture lift is needed.
