• If the form is not completed in full, no permit can be granted.

The application is sent by email to the Security and Public Order department. If you need to drive into the pedestrian zone, according to the city you also need a permit to drive and park in pedestrian zones. Mannheim city centre was planned as a grid around 1600, and Mannheim received its town charter in 1607; today it has 144 squares. Instead of street names, the buildings there have letter-number addresses: the town hall is in square E 5, the Stadthaus in N 1 and the public order office in K 7. In applications and delivery addresses, you should therefore state the square and house number completely and unambiguously.

Outside the Quadrate, the city lists Käfertal, Neckarstadt, Lindenhof, Waldhof, Sandhofen, Rheinau, Feudenheim and Seckenheim among its districts. Tight city-centre locations differ in access and carrying distances from the suburbs with courtyard entrances and apartment buildings. During the survey we therefore clarify where the lorry can stand, how long the carrying distances are and whether a parking restriction or special permit will be needed.

According to the city, after moving in you are obliged to register in person within two weeks. Re-registration within Mannheim is free of charge and possible at any citizens' service location; appointments are available via the city's appointment reservation system or the public authority number 115. You need to bring your ID and the landlord confirmation (Wohnungsgeberbestätigung), as well as your vehicle documents if addresses change.

If you move to another residents' parking zone, you must have your residents' parking permit changed; the city states 5.00 euros per change.
