Key answers for your move in Berlin Blankenfelde
Our vehicles reach Blankenfelde via Schildower Straße and Blankenfelder Chaussee (B96a). The lack of an U-Bahn or S-Bahn makes no difference to the move; in everyday life, buses 107 and 124 take you to Niederschönhausen, Rosenthal and Französisch Buchholz.
Blankenfelde: a green village on the city edge and what it means for your move
Blankenfelde is one of the quietest and greenest neighbourhoods in the district of Pankow – a classic green village (Angerdorf) with the historic Blankenfelde village church, surrounded by fields, nurseries and the former sewage farms. Those who live here value the village calm far from Berlin's city centre – and it is precisely this feature that brings its own challenges for moves. Narrow village streets such as the old centre around the church, little through traffic, but also narrow access roads to plots call for careful planning and the right vehicle. We at Praktik Transport und Umzüge, trading as Beste Umzug, come from Moabit and plan every address in advance – from access via Blankenfelder Chaussee to the yard at the Stadtgut.
Blankenfelde lies on the northern city boundary, where it borders Schildow in Brandenburg; its neighbours on the Berlin side include Buch, Französisch Buchholz, Rosenthal and Lübars. Further south-east lie Blankenburg and Heinersdorf. Whether you are moving within Blankenfelde or to a neighbouring area: we plan the approach in advance. By public transport, the neighbourhood is served by bus routes 107 (to Pastor-Niemöller-Platz in Niederschönhausen) and 124 (to Rosenthal and Französisch Buchholz); there is no U-Bahn or S-Bahn station of its own.
Whether a private move from a detached house, a senior move into a flat suited to older people or a company move for one of the small businesses in the neighbourhood – we plan every move in Blankenfelde individually and with the local particularities in mind. Our aim is to offer you a smooth, transparent and stress-free process that is tailored precisely to the neighbourhood.
Our services for moves in Blankenfelde
As a Berlin moving company from Moabit, we offer the full range of services that a move in the rural north of Pankow requires. Many households in Blankenfelde live in detached houses with gardens, outbuildings or garages – here, in addition to the classic private move, a clearance of cellar, loft or shed is often needed before the actual moving boxes are packed. We carry out this preparatory work properly and with care for the environment, so that you can move straight into a tidy new home.
For families moving within Blankenfelde or towards Französisch Buchholz and Blankenburg, we offer tailored furniture assembly – from assembling the wardrobe to dismantling the fitted kitchen. If you own a piano or grand piano that needs to be moved from one of the older buildings in the village core or one of the houses on the edge of the village, our teams handle the piano transport with the appropriate special equipment and with particular care in narrow stairwells.
Smaller transport jobs are also in good hands with us: if only individual pieces of furniture, a sofa or a few boxes need to be moved, a part load is often worthwhile – inexpensive and ecologically sensible, as the cargo space of our vehicles is used optimally. For older residents of Blankenfelde who want to move into a barrier-free flat or a nearby care home, our sensitive senior move is available, for which we take particular time for organisation and support. Businesses in the neighbourhood, such as smaller craft businesses or offices, benefit from our company move, which is designed for minimal downtime. In this way we cover every moving scenario in Blankenfelde – from a small part load to a complete house move.
No-stopping zone and parking when moving in Blankenfelde
Parking in Blankenfelde is generally more relaxed than in densely built inner-city areas – nevertheless, there are some particularities that we take into account with every move. In the historic village core around the village church and along the narrow streets, the access roads are often tight, partly unpaved or only passable in single file. Here it is crucial that our removal van is positioned precisely so as not to block the way for residents and delivery traffic. On plots with a yard entrance, for example on the edge of the village towards Buch, on the other hand, there is often space on the property itself, which makes loading and unloading considerably easier.
For moves directly on the street, on busy days or when there are only a few parking spaces in front of the house anyway, we recommend setting up an official no-stopping zone. We take care of the application to the responsible authority, the signage and putting it up in good time before your moving date. This ensures that our vehicle can stand right in front of the door – an enormous advantage in time and cost, especially for larger moves with many boxes or bulky furniture.
For houses with a garden and driveway in particular, a short discussion beforehand is worthwhile: where exactly can the removal van stop, how wide is the gate, is there a second access via a side street? We clarify these questions during the on-site survey so that no time is lost searching or re-parking on moving day. Looking at the different types of street in Blankenfelde – from the old village street to the access road at the Stadtgut – helps us find the right solution for every address.
Moving costs for a move in Blankenfelde
The moving costs for a move in Blankenfelde depend on several factors: the size of the household, the distance to the new home, the floor and access conditions, and the additional services required, such as furniture assembly or clearance. As many houses in the neighbourhood are detached with gardens, some moves involve extra effort for transporting garden furniture, greenhouse contents or tools – points that we take into account transparently in the quote.
You will find a detailed overview of prices, sample calculations and influencing factors on our page moving costs in Berlin. As a rule, we calculate every move in Blankenfelde after a free survey – on site or by video – and use it to draw up a binding fixed price. For you this means: no hidden costs, no nasty surprises on moving day, but full cost certainty from the start.
For smaller moves, such as transporting individual pieces of furniture within the neighbourhood or to neighbouring areas such as Heinersdorf or Weißensee, a part load can pay off financially, as the costs are shared proportionately across several jobs. Larger family moves with a complete household clearance, for example when leaving an old farmhouse in the village core, are calculated as a complete package including packing material, transport and optional furniture assembly. Either way, you receive a quote that fits your move in Blankenfelde exactly – fairly calculated and without unnecessary extra costs.
Older buildings, village core and furniture lifts: mastering moves in Blankenfelde
The buildings in Blankenfelde are marked by a clear contrast: in the historic village core around the village church and the old village green stand farmsteads, farmhouses and smaller period buildings, some over a hundred years old, with narrow stairwells, low door frames and slim hallways. On the edge of the village towards Buch and in the Arkenberge estate, on the other hand, there are detached houses and a few newer buildings. High-rises or classic prefabricated tower blocks hardly exist in Blankenfelde – the neighbourhood deliberately remains small-scale and green.
Moves out of the old farmsteads in the village core require particular manual skill: narrow spiral staircases, low cellar stairs and historic wooden floors call for careful carriers and suitable tools so as not to damage walls, door frames and floors. Bulky pieces of furniture such as wardrobes, beds or a piano can often only be manoeuvred through narrow passageways here with great care – which is exactly where our teams come in, if necessary with a special piano transport strap or by dismantling on site.
In the newer buildings with lifts, the process is naturally simpler, but here too we pay attention to clean edge protection, correct securing in the lift and a smooth transition from the building to the removal vehicle. After the transport we can take care of complete furniture assembly in your new home on request – from the bed frame to the bookcase. In this way we make sure that, regardless of whether your move in Blankenfelde is from a centuries-old farmstead or a modern new build, every piece of furniture arrives at its destination safely, undamaged and properly handled.
Popular moving routes from Blankenfelde
Many of our customers move from Blankenfelde to other parts of Pankow or Berlin – and some are also planning a move beyond the city limits. The most common destinations within the district include lively Prenzlauer Berg with its period flats, nearby Weißensee and the direct neighbours Buch, Französisch Buchholz and Blankenburg. Moves to Heinersdorf are also not unusual, given the short distance and similar housing structures.
The route out of Blankenfelde usually runs via Blankenfelder Chaussee (B96a) towards the centre of Pankow, and from there on via Berliner Straße towards Prenzlauer Berg or via Rennbahnstraße towards Weißensee. As Blankenfelde itself has no U-Bahn connection of its own, we usually plan approaches and no-stopping zones with a little lead time, while making sure that the stops of bus routes 107 and 124 remain clear on moving day.
Quite a few moves from Blankenfelde, however, also go beyond the city limits – whether to Berlin's surrounding area, to Brandenburg or to another federal state. For these routes we offer reliable long-distance moves, for which we provide the same careful planning, packing and securing of furniture as for a move within Pankow. For longer distances in particular, a part load is often worthwhile if only part of the furniture, rather than the entire household, needs to be transported. In this way we cover every route requested from Blankenfelde, from the short trip to Buch to a long-distance move right across Germany.
How booking your move in Blankenfelde works
The process of moving with our moving company Berlin Blankenfelde is deliberately kept simple and transparent. In the first step, you contact us by phone, email or our contact form and tell us the key details: current address in Blankenfelde, destination address, preferred date and approximate size of your home. We then arrange a free survey – either on site in the village core, at the Stadtgut or in the Arkenberge estate, or conveniently by video survey if an in-person visit beforehand is not possible in time.
During the survey we record all relevant details: access routes, parking situation, floor, whether there is a lift, special items such as a piano or a bulky wardrobe, and additional requests such as clearance or furniture assembly. On this basis we draw up a binding fixed-price quote that clearly lists all services – from the number of removal helpers and the vehicle used to any special measures required, such as a no-stopping zone.
Once you accept, we reserve your preferred date bindingly and agree on the final details such as packing material, boxes or special items, for example for a piano transport. On moving day itself, our team takes care of the entire process: proper packing, safe carrying through the narrow stairwells of the village core or comfortably by lift in the newer houses, the transport and, on request, assembling the furniture in your new home. Whether a private move, company move or senior move – we accompany you from the first enquiry to the last box unpacked in your new home in Blankenfelde or elsewhere.
Insider tip: discovering Blankenfelde away from the moving stress
Anyone moving to Blankenfelde or who already knows the neighbourhood should definitely take time, once the moving work is done, for a walk through the historic village core. The small Blankenfelde village church with its adjoining green gives an authentic impression of how rural this part of Pankow still is today – a contrast you would not expect in the middle of Berlin. Around the old farmsteads lie gardens, meadow orchards and small side streets where you can get to know your new neighbourhood at leisure.
A real insider tip is also the Botanischer Volkspark Blankenfelde-Pankow on Blankenfelder Chaussee with its historic greenhouses, laid out in 1909/12 as Berlin's central school garden. If you have time, you can also explore the Arkenberge from here – at 121.9 metres the highest elevation in Berlin – as well as the fields towards Buch, ideal for unwinding after a strenuous moving day.
For everyone who has just moved in, it is also worth looking towards Französisch Buchholz and Blankenburg, where there are small shops and cafés that usefully complement Blankenfelde's rather rural infrastructure. As a Berlin moving company from Moabit, we are happy to help you transport your furniture and make it easier to settle into your new surroundings. From the first survey and the part load of smaller items to a complete house move – we are your reliable partner for every move in and around Blankenfelde.
Blankenfelde: no-stopping zone, authorities and timetable for your move
Blankenfelde lies in the district of Pankow, where the road traffic authority decides on moving-related no-stopping zones (Storkower Straße 97, 10405 Berlin; email: [email protected]). The ServicePortal Berlin mentions an informal application, an average processing time of around four weeks and a minimum fee of €21.00, depending on extent and duration. The Pankow district office only issues orders for temporary traffic signs for loading and unloading to qualified companies, which submit the application and put up the signs.
If the old and new homes are in different districts, according to the ServicePortal the authority of the district in which the no-stopping zone is to be set up is responsible in each case. A sensible timetable: first, clarify during the survey whether the van can stand on the street or in the yard. Then commission the signage so that the application is submitted around four weeks before moving day. Finally, register your new address within 14 days of moving in; according to the ServicePortal Berlin this is free of charge and possible at any citizens' office (Bürgeramt) or online with BundID. The landlord confirmation (Wohnungsgeberbestätigung) must be in writing and signed.
In sparsely populated Blankenfelde in particular, a lot depends on the yard access. We can only assess gate and path widths on site. You can find more on the topic under no-stopping zone and in the district overview moving in Pankow. Information as of: October 2026.
Village, manor estate and sewage farms: living in Blankenfelde
According to the Pankow district office, Blankenfelde was first mentioned in records in 1284 and has been part of Greater Berlin since 1920. The neighbourhood is the most sparsely populated in Berlin and still strongly rural in character. Together with Stadtrandsiedlung Malchow it accounts for almost a fifth of the district's area. Until 1985 there were large sewage farms here for Berlin's waste water. On a former sewage field on Blankenfelder Chaussee, Berlin's central school garden was created in 1909/12 – today's Botanischer Volkspark Pankow with historic greenhouses, a small arboretum, a fallow deer enclosure and water gardens.
As for buildings, the district office mentions the historic Stadtgut with its spa house and manor house, which an association is restoring. Intergenerational living, crafts, gardens and social facilities are planned there; there is already a forest kindergarten, a free nature school and an apiary. The Arkenberge estate also belongs to the neighbourhood. So there are very different addresses, from the village core and the Stadtgut to the Arkenberge estate.
We clarify what this means for your move during the survey: how far is the walk from the van to the door, can vehicles drive into the yard, are there stairs? We only quote prices after that. Other neighbourhoods in the district are Rosenthal, Buch and Karow.
