Frequently asked questions about moving in Rhineland-Palatinate
From Stromstraße in Berlin-Moabit, it is around 604 road kilometres to Koblenz and around 718 to Trier. According to our price list, we calculate both routes from €3.90/km.
Rhineland-Palatinate: cities and regions for your move
As a removal company from Berlin-Moabit, we support private individuals and businesses with moves between the Moselle, the Rhine and the Palatinate Forest. Rhineland-Palatinate is characterised by a mix of cities, picturesque wine villages and rural regions – every route places its own demands on planning and logistics. In Koblenz, located right at the confluence of the Rhine and the Moselle, we plan moves into the Altstadt as well as to Lützel north of the Moselle. Trier, one of the oldest cities in Germany, has a pedestrian zone with bollards around the Porta Nigra and the Hauptmarkt.
In the Palatinate, Kaiserslautern lies on the north-western edge of the Palatinate Forest, with the RPTU as a university location. Around ten kilometres north-west of Koblenz, Neuwied lies on the right bank of the Rhine, connected via the B42 and B256 to the A3, A48 and A61. In Rheinhessen lies Worms, the Nibelungen city on the left bank of the Rhine in the north of the Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region.
In addition to these five cities, we also plan moves to Mainz, Ludwigshafen, Speyer and smaller communities in the Westerwald, the Hunsrück and the Vulkaneifel. Whether it is a private move into a new rented flat or a company move with complete office equipment – we ask about the regional conditions, from narrow half-timbered lanes to commercial areas on the A61, A63 and A48, before preparing the quote.
Regional features of a move in Rhineland-Palatinate
Rhineland-Palatinate is topographically demanding: steep vineyards along the Moselle, narrow cobbled lanes in historic old towns and extensive rural areas in the Hunsrück, Westerwald and Eifel call for individual moving plans. In cities such as Koblenz, Trier or Worms, medieval town centres often mean narrow streets in which a removal van cannot simply park. Here we recommend a parking restriction zone early on so that there is enough space for loading and unloading on moving day – particularly important in Trier city centre around the Hauptmarkt or in Koblenz's Altstadt near the Deutsches Eck.
The wine-growing regions on the Moselle, the Nahe and the Rhine also have their own particular features: many houses are on steep slopes with narrow access roads, some without direct vehicle access. For such locations, we use special equipment such as carrying straps and hand trucks with stair climbers. In rural areas of the Vulkaneifel or the Hunsrück, on the other hand, the distances between properties are often greater, which must be taken into account when calculating travel times.
In university cities such as Kaiserslautern, Trier or Koblenz, our student move is in demand, usually with a smaller volume but a tight time window at the change of semester. For houses with a garage and cellar, for example in Rheinhessen, a complete house move is worthwhile instead. We clarify this regional diversity during the survey before we write the quote.
Moving costs in Rhineland-Palatinate: prices calculated transparently
The moving costs in Rhineland-Palatinate depend on several factors: flat size, distance, accessibility of the property and any additional services required, such as a parking restriction zone, furniture assembly or a packing service. We calculate every move individually, but are happy to give a rough guide based on our standard prices, which apply both to moves within Koblenz or Trier and to moves to Rhineland-Palatinate from other regions.
| Service | Price from |
|---|---|
| 1-room flat | €354 |
| 2-room flat | €594 |
| 3-room flat | €909 |
| Long-distance move (per km) | from €3.90/km |
| Parking restriction zone (per day) | €30–100 |
These figures are guide values for a standard move with an average amount of furniture. Additional factors such as a high floor without a lift in Koblenz's or Trier's old town, additional piano transport or a complete clearance of the old cellar affect the final price. The region also plays a role: a move within Neuwied or Worms can usually be calculated more affordably than a long-distance move via the A61 or A63 to other federal states.
We recommend getting a personal quote early, in which we take into account the flat size, floor, parking situation and preferred date. This way you avoid hidden costs and receive a transparent fixed-price quote – whether for a small student move in Kaiserslautern or a complete house move in Rheinhessen.
Long-distance moves to and from Rhineland-Palatinate
As a removal company based in Berlin-Moabit, we organise long-distance moves to Rhineland-Palatinate and back. From our location on Stromstraße, it is around 604 road kilometres to Koblenz, around 605 to Neuwied, around 609 to Worms, around 655 to Kaiserslautern and around 718 to Trier, in the west of the state near Luxembourg; the route usually runs via the A9, A4 and A5. We calculate these routes transparently with our long-distance price from €3.90/km, with vehicle size, load volume and stopovers affecting the final price.
For customers who do not need the full capacity of a removal van, we offer a part load – an affordable alternative in which your belongings are transported together with other consignments on the same route. This is particularly worthwhile for smaller moves, for example from Berlin to a student flat in Trier or Kaiserslautern.
For long-distance moves to Rhineland-Palatinate, we take care of the complete logistics: from dismantling the furniture in Berlin and safe transport on the motorway to proper reassembly at the destination, whether in Neuwied, Worms or one of the smaller communities in the Hunsrück. For business customers relocating, for example from Berlin to new company headquarters in Koblenz or Kaiserslautern, we also plan the IT dismantling and the set-up of the office infrastructure as part of our company move. This makes the long-distance move run smoothly, regardless of the distance.
Local moves within Rhineland-Palatinate
In addition to long-distance moves, we also carry out local moves within Rhineland-Palatinate. Typical examples are moves within the same city, such as from Ehrenbreitstein to Lützel in Koblenz, or from Neuwied to Koblenz, around ten kilometres away. Between Kaiserslautern and Worms, connected via the A63 and A61, we also plan moves for families changing their place of residence within the Palatinate or Rheinhessen for work or private reasons.
A typical example is a move from an old flat in Trier city centre to a new housing estate on the edge of town: here, narrow access at the old address and sufficient parking at the new address often have to be taken into account. For such moves within a city, we organise a parking restriction zone at the old address if needed, to shorten loading times and avoid obstructing traffic.
Older people moving within Worms or Kaiserslautern into a barrier-free flat or assisted living can also use our senior move, with help dealing with the authorities and changes of address on request. Students at Trier University or RPTU Kaiserslautern-Landau can use our student move to move quickly and affordably into a new flat near the campus at the start of semester. Whether it is a short distance within a city or a move to the neighbouring community – we ask about the local conditions in advance and plan every local move efficiently.
