Moving company Müggelheim

House, garden, cellar: how we plan your move in Müggelheim

move without stress

Unsere Firma Moving help for houses, garden plots and flats between the village green, Müggelheimer Damm and Gosener Damm.
Müggelheim was founded as a village in 1747 by families from the Palatinate and is still characterised by detached houses and gardens today. For your move in Müggelheim this means: rarely a lift, but instead internal stairs, cellars, attics and sometimes long distances from the van to the front door.
During the survey we clarify the driveway, carrying distance and whether a no-stopping zone is needed at all. On request we take care of the packing service, clearance of the cellar and garden shed, small transport or part-load transport – at a fixed price.

What
matters when moving in Müggelheim

Key topics around your move in Müggelheim
These points are particularly relevant for a smooth move in the village-like neighbourhood of Müggelheim.

Parking & access

Many plots have their own driveways, but for blocks of flats on Müggelheimer Damm we still check whether a no-stopping zone makes sense.

Stairs instead of lifts

As lifts are the exception in Müggelheim, we plan stair transport and furniture lifts specifically.

Bus connections

Without its own U-Bahn or S-Bahn station, Müggelheim relies on buses such as the 169 to Köpenick – we take this into account when scheduling.

Frequently asked questions about moving in Müggelheim

Key answers for your move in Berlin Müggelheim

Answers on access, no-stopping zones, garden paths, costs and registration – so that your move in Müggelheim stays easy to plan, even on the edge of the city.

Müggelheim lies away from the main traffic arteries and is connected to Köpenick mainly via Müggelheimer Damm and bus lines such as the 169. Our removal vans use this main route and allow buffer time for rural side streets.

Müggelheim: a Palatine green village between the Müggelsee and the Seddinsee

Müggelheim lies in the south-east of Berlin and belongs to the Treptow-Köpenick district. Anyone who lives here knows its village character, with detached houses, generous gardens and water and forest close by – between the Müggelsee, the Langer See, the Dämeritzsee and the Gosener Kanal, where Müggelheim borders Brandenburg. This special location makes a move in Müggelheim different from one in densely built inner-city neighbourhoods: instead of narrow rear courtyards and flats on several floors, detached houses dominate here along Müggelheimer Damm, Gosener Damm and around the village green of Alt-Müggelheim with its village church from 1804.

Praktik Transport und Umzüge, with the brand Beste Umzug, comes from Moabit and plans for the special features of this neighbourhood in advance: from the approach via narrow, partly unpaved side streets to organising transport along longer driveways. As Müggelheim is connected neither to the U-Bahn nor directly to the S-Bahn, the link is provided by bus lines such as the 169 to Köpenick S-Bahn station. For our moving teams this means: we plan travel times realistically, take the traffic on Müggelheimer Damm into account and agree the route with the customer in advance.

Whether a private move into a new home of your own, a household clearance or a complete change within the neighbourhood – we check every address in advance. Especially in Müggelheim, where many families have lived in their houses for a long time and the move often goes hand in hand with clearing the older generation's household, a sensitive yet professional process is crucial. We make sure that the move runs smoothly without affecting the neighbours or the property – something that is particularly valued in Müggelheim's quiet residential setting close to nature.

Our moving services for Müggelheim at a glance

For the neighbourhood of Müggelheim we offer the full range of services of a modern moving company – tailored to the village structure with detached houses, semi-detached houses and the occasional block of flats on Müggelheimer Damm. For private households we handle the complete private move, from packing and transport to setting up in the new flat or house. Smaller businesses, practices and clubs in the neighbourhood also benefit from our company relocation service, in which we move office furniture, files and technical equipment safely and on schedule without unnecessarily disrupting day-to-day operations.

As Müggelheim is rather remote and not every move fills a full load, we offer part-load transport as an inexpensive alternative – ideal if only individual pieces of furniture or a small household need to be transported. If you want to declutter while moving, you can add our clearance service: especially in older houses with a cellar, attic and garden shed – typical of the plots in Müggelheim – there is often more to clear than you might think at first.

If you own an upright or grand piano, which is not unusual in the spacious living rooms of many Müggelheim houses, our trained carriers handle the piano transport professionally and with liability under the German Commercial Code (HGB). After transport we can reassemble wardrobes, beds and kitchens as part of a move with assembly on request, so that you can move straight in on moving day. For older residents who have lived in their house in Müggelheim for a long time, we also offer a senior move with particularly considerate support, including help with official errands and changes of address.

No-stopping zone and parking when moving in Müggelheim

Parking during a move is usually more relaxed in Müggelheim than in densely built Berlin neighbourhoods – many plots have their own driveways, carports or parking spaces in front of the house. Even so, there are situations in which a reserved stopping position makes sense: for example for blocks of flats along Müggelheimer Damm, near the village green of Alt-Müggelheim or for moves with a larger furniture lift, when enough room to manoeuvre is needed for our removal van. In such cases we take care of the no-stopping zone and apply for the necessary signage in good time from the road traffic authority of the Treptow-Köpenick district office.

Especially at weekends, when day-trippers are heading to the Müggelsee, the Müggelberge hills or the Gosener Kanal, traffic can occasionally be heavier in Müggelheim too. We therefore plan the delivery of boxes and packing materials and the moving run itself so that your moving day is not held up by unexpected traffic searching for parking. On narrower streets around the village green or in the forest estates, we also agree in advance whether our vehicle can turn easily or whether a smaller transport vehicle is the better choice.

For houses with a long driveway or gated entrance, we also organise things so that our team bridges the distance between the stopping position and the front door efficiently with hand trucks and dollies, without damaging lawns or driveways – a detail that is particularly important in Müggelheim's green, garden-dominated setting. In this way we make sure that neither neighbours nor traffic are unnecessarily burdened by the move and that your moving day runs smoothly from the first box to the last.

Moving costs in Müggelheim: transparent fixed prices

The moving costs for a move into or out of Müggelheim depend on several factors: the size of the household, the distance to the new home, the number of floors involved and any additional services booked, such as clearance, furniture assembly or piano transport. As many houses in Müggelheim have two floors, a converted attic and a cellar, it is worth having a survey on site or a detailed virtual quote beforehand, so that the later fixed price really does remain binding.

On our overview page on moving costs in Berlin you will find general guide values and sample calculations to give you a first idea. For Müggelheim: as most moves here are from house to house or from house to flat within Treptow-Köpenick, travel distances can often be calculated well, which has a positive effect on the overall price. Things are different when a long-distance move is coming up, for example when a family from Müggelheim moves to another city or federal state for work – here we factor in mileage rates, tolls and, if necessary, interim storage.

As a rule we work with a transparent fixed-price quote instead of hidden hourly billing: you know from the start what your move in Müggelheim will cost, regardless of whether loading is delayed by a bulky wardrobe or a piano. Additional services such as clearance of the cellar and garden shed or applying for a no-stopping zone are shown separately and clearly. In this way, as a customer in Müggelheim, you keep full control of costs without being held back by surprises on moving day.

Period buildings, new builds and furniture lifts: housing in Müggelheim

Unlike many other Berlin neighbourhoods, Müggelheim has hardly any classic period buildings with stucco façades and four storeys. Instead, detached houses, country houses and estate houses from different eras shape the picture – many of them with a converted loft, cellar and a staircase over two or three levels. For the move this means: no lift, but often steep internal stairs, narrow attic hatches or winding cellar stairs that require particular care when moving furniture.

For bulky items that will not fit through the stairwell, we check in advance whether an external furniture lift is the more sensible solution – for example for a wall unit on the first floor or a piano that would otherwise have to be carried down a narrow spiral staircase. Our teams have the necessary equipment to carry out such transports safely and without damage to walls, banisters or floors. This approach is particularly suitable for the somewhat older estate houses around the village green of Alt-Müggelheim.

In the occasional newer residential complexes and blocks of flats on the edge of the neighbourhood, for example towards Müggelheimer Damm, the floor plans are more modern and some have lifts, which makes the move much easier. Whatever the building, after transport we can take care of complete furniture assembly on request: beds, wardrobes, shelves and kitchen units are reassembled properly so that you feel at home in your new place in Müggelheim on the very first evening. If needed, we advise you during the survey on which furniture is better transported dismantled because of door widths or ceiling heights.

Popular moving routes from Müggelheim

Many moves from Müggelheim stay within the district or go to neighbouring parts of Treptow-Köpenick. We particularly often handle moves to Köpenick, the historic centre with the Schlossinsel and good rail connections, and to Friedrichshagen right on the Müggelsee, where many families from Müggelheim move because of the proximity to the water and the good S-Bahn connection.

There is also plenty of moving towards the north: to Oberschöneweide with its renovated loft flats in the former industrial area, to Adlershof, shaped by its science and technology hub, and to the more urban areas of Alt-Treptow and Plänterwald, close to the Spree and Treptower Park. For all these routes the way usually leads via Müggelheimer Damm through Köpenick, so we can plan travel and delivery times realistically.

Quite often, however, people from Müggelheim also move beyond the district or city boundary, for example to Brandenburg on the far side of the Gosener Kanal or to other federal states when a job change comes up. For such distances we offer reliable long-distance moves, in which we stow furniture, boxes and delicate items such as pianos securely and transport them over long distances protected from the weather. Whether the move covers only a few kilometres within Treptow-Köpenick or goes right across Germany: we plan the route so that loading and unloading go quickly and your household goods are securely stowed at all times.

How your move in Müggelheim works: planning and booking

A smooth move in Müggelheim starts with a no-obligation survey or a detailed inventory by phone or video – especially for detached houses with a cellar, attic and garden shed, an accurate estimate of the volume is crucial for a suitable quote. We then prepare a transparent fixed-price quote that covers all the services you want, from transport only to a complete all-round service.

Once the order is confirmed, we plan the moving date taking local conditions in Müggelheim into account: we check whether a no-stopping zone needs to be applied for, whether a furniture lift is needed and how best to organise the approach via Müggelheimer Damm, Gosener Damm or other access roads. If required, we deliver boxes, packing material and wardrobe boxes in advance so that you can pack at your own pace – or we take over the packing completely as part of the private move.

On moving day itself our team arrives punctually, protects furniture and floors with blankets and protective material, dismantles wardrobes and beds if necessary and transports everything safely to the new address – whether within Müggelheim, to a neighbouring area or as a long-distance move to another city. After transport we can take care of furniture assembly straight away on request, so that beds are set up and wardrobes are ready to use. Finally we clear away the packing material and discuss with you whether any follow-up work is still needed, such as a clearance of the old rooms. Booking itself is straightforward: by phone, email or via our online form, you will quickly receive a suitable quote for your move in Müggelheim.

Insider tip: living and moving in village-like Müggelheim

If you are new to Müggelheim or do not yet know the neighbourhood well, take time for a walk to the old village church and across the historic village green – this is where the rural character that sets Müggelheim apart from most other Berlin neighbourhoods shows itself. Just a few kilometres away are the Müggelberge hills with the Müggelturm tower, which offers a wide view over the Müggelsee and the surrounding forests – a popular destination that newly arrived families also quickly come to appreciate.

For leisure by the water there are the Langer See and the Dämeritzsee, which invite you for walks, bike rides or short boat trips. If you enjoy being active in clubs, you will find options in Müggelheim ranging from sports clubs to gardening and local heritage associations, which shape the village's sense of community. A move in particular shows how well connected the neighbourhood is here – one more reason to organise no-stopping zones and loading work as considerately as possible.

Handy for everyday life: shops for daily needs can be found directly along Müggelheimer Damm, while for bigger shopping trips many residents go to Köpenick or Friedrichshagen. The cultural offer of the neighbouring areas, such as cinemas and restaurants in Köpenick, can also be reached on the 169 bus. Our tip for everyone moving in: use the first few weeks to get to know the neighbours and explore the many little paths and green spaces – that way your new home in Müggelheim quickly becomes a real home, while we take care of transporting your household goods smoothly.

Müggelheim: no-stopping zone and access for the removal van in the village on the Müggelsee

According to the district office, Müggelheim lies between the Großer Müggelsee, the Langer See and the Seddinsee on the Köpenicker Werder. Here, too, a removal van needs a temporary no-stopping zone if it is to stop directly at the property. The responsible body is the road traffic authority (Straßenverkehrsbehörde) in the Roads and Green Spaces Office of Treptow-Köpenick (Neue Krugallee 4, 12435 Berlin). According to the Treptow-Köpenick district office, no-stopping orders for loading and unloading such as moves are only issued to qualified traffic safety companies; these submit the application to the road traffic authority and put up and remove the signs. The service portal service.berlin.de states a “minimum fee of €21.00, depending on scope and duration” and an average processing time of “approx. 4 weeks” (information as of October 2026).

For your property or yard in Müggelheim we recommend this order:

  • Clarify access: Describe the street, driveway and carrying distance to us in advance. This saves time on moving day.
  • Have the application made early: Because of the processing time of about four weeks, plan with a fixed date from the outset.
  • Fee: It depends on scope and duration; according to the portal the minimum fee is €21.00.

You can find more about our services under no-stopping zone and local move. Please give us your exact address and the desired period when you enquire, and we will advise you on the order.

Müggelheim: a green village with farmsteads – housing, routes and disposal when moving

Müggelheim was founded in 1747 as an agricultural settlement for twenty Protestant families from the Palatinate. The district office describes the village as an elongated green village (Angerdorf), with the farmsteads grouped around a central green space. From around 1890 visitors seeking rest arrived, and inns and villas were built. Unlike the better-connected Friedrichshagen, Müggelheim did not grow into a suburb; in 1920 it became part of Greater Berlin as the smallest rural municipality (source: berlin.de/ba-treptow-koepenick, history of the Müggelheim neighbourhood).

Village structures also shape the move:

  • Farmsteads and detached houses: Long carrying distances across yards or gardens are possible; we include them in our planning during the survey. Feel free to send us photos of the access, stairs and cellar rooms so that we can put together the right staff and vehicle.
  • Registration: Within 14 days of moving in, at a citizens' office (Bürgeramt), free of charge, with the landlord confirmation (Wohnungsgeberbestätigung) (source: service.berlin.de). Book appointments online or via (030) 115. Without a valid ID and landlord confirmation, registration is not possible.
  • Müggelturm and cycle route: The district office mentions the Müggelturm, built in 1889 and rebuilt in 1961, as well as a new path on the southern shore of the Müggelsee that is part of cycle route 1. On moving day there may be more cyclists about, especially in good weather.
  • Bulky waste: For its collection, BSR requires a stopping space for the vehicle no more than 100 m from the loading point and prohibits putting items out on public land.

Within the district we also move people to Köpenick and Friedrichshagen.

Always one step ahead.
