Ideal for smaller moves, individual pieces of furniture or long distances: we combine your load with other runs and deliver safely, with liability under the HGB and at a fixed price after a survey. Often the most affordable way to move.
How does a part load work?
A part load uses free space on a planned trip. Your wardrobe, your boxes or your piano are loaded together with other consignments, secured separately and unloaded at your address along the way. Because several customers share the travel costs, your share goes down – and the lorry drives fewer empty kilometres.
Who is a part load right for?
A part load is a good fit when the volume is small and the date is flexible:
- one-room flat, flatshare room or student move
- individual pieces of furniture, such as an inherited wardrobe or a sofa
- remaining items still missing after the main move
- destinations for which a shared run can be planned
If you need a fixed day, a dedicated vehicle is the better choice.
From enquiry to delivery
You give us the collection address, the destination and a list of the items (photos help). From this we calculate the volume and give you a fixed price. On collection day, furniture is wrapped in blankets and secured with straps; your consignment gets its own space in the cargo area. Delivery takes place within the agreed delivery window.
What does the price depend on?
The price is determined by the volume in cubic metres, the distance, floors and walking distances, and your flexibility on dates: the wider the delivery window, the easier it is to fit the consignment into an existing run. You receive a fixed price after a survey or based on your inventory list – just request your free quote.
Part load with Praktik: what applies
We are a moving company from Moabit (Stromstraße 21) with 5.0 stars from 119 Google reviews. A part load gets the same care as a full move: padded blankets, straps and a fixed contact person. For damage, liability under the German Commercial Code (HGB) (§ 451e: €620 per m³) applies, and we take out additional insurance on request – whether a single item or a partial move.
Part load or your own van? A comparison
A dedicated van is worthwhile when the flat is full or the moving date is fixed. A part load plays to its strengths when only part of the cargo space is needed: you pay for the cubic metres of your belongings instead of for the vehicle and the return trip. Typical customers are students, singles, flatshare moves and partial moves after a separation or a change of job.
The price of the saving is flexibility: we schedule your consignment into a suitable run and give you a delivery window. On request we pack fragile items – pictures, glass, lamps – ourselves so that they stand safely between other people's consignments. Every item is labelled during loading so that only your belongings are unloaded at the destination.

How is the price calculated? By the volume of your belongings in cubic metres, the distance and the effort at the loading and unloading points.
Do I get a fixed date? You get a delivery window, because your consignment travels on a shared run.
Who is liable for damage? Liability under the HGB applies (§ 451e: €620 per m³); additional insurance is available on request.
Does this also work for a student move? Yes, it makes particular sense when only a few cubic metres are involved.
